Which Foods Should I Eat on a 10x Diet?

By Dr Steve Laverson on October 14, 2018

Starting a diet can seem daunting, especially if you believe that “diet” means “deprivation.” The truth is, a healthy diet is a gift of self-care, and it will leave you satisfied and energized, as long as you know how to shop.  Foods that qualify as part of the 10x Diet follow a couple of simple rules:

  • Up to 10 calories per 1 gram of protein

Foods that are high in protein and low in calories reduce your hunger hormones and help keep you feeling satisfied. Our formula provides an easy way to read food labels: 10 or less calories per 1g protein.  If a food has 10 grams of protein, the calories per serving should be 100 or less. If it’s 50 calories per serving, it should have 5 or more grams of protein.

  • Low in carbohydrates

If the sugar from carbs is not available to burn, your body will burn fat instead. Keep in mind that fiber carbohydrates don’t enter your bloodstream, so they don’t count toward your daily goal. On the Nutrition Facts label, the Net Carbs = the Total Carbs minus the fiber. So that’s the number you want to pay attention to.  Try to keep your net carbs to 30-40 grams per day.

  • All the greens you want

Green vegetables are packed with nutrients that help strengthen the immune system, clean the digestive tract, support muscle and nerve function, and help keep you lean and healthy.

By following the 10x formulas, you’ll burn fat, lose weight, and feel strong and healthy. If you’re not sure how these formulas translate to everyday foods, read on for more information about what foods you should eat on the 10x Diet.
